Twin sisters Colina and Hripsime Demirdjian, aged 24 are the two faces behind the popular new App Moji Edit.
With absolutely no experience in technology, programming or app creation the twin sisters saw a gap in the market, where they took a gamble that has turned into a huge success.
Launching Moji Edit only a few weeks ago the sisters have been left stunned by its popularity and fast rise in the iTunes App Chart.
The app, which lets anyone turn themselves into a personalised emoji, is one of the most popular free apps on the Apple App Store in Australia, UK, US and Canada with over 500,000 downloads.
Sisters Colina and Hripsime, both studying Law at Sydney’s Macquarie University put their degrees on hold to pursue their dream of designing an app.
The sisters had a detailed creative brief and a plan of action, so all they needed was a developer to turn their dream into a reality, which took no more than 3 months!
With over 1,500 + features available it’s near impossible to not be able to create a version of yourself.
While the app is free to download, there are options for in-app purchases to generate revenue. To unlock certain features and design elements there is a cost associated ranging from $2- $7.
In terms of what’s next, ‘we are constantly looking for the latest fashion and accessories to feature on the app which has really caught the attention of our users,’ Hripsime said.
Moji Edit is available in the Apple App Store currently, and is a huge success for two, young Australian women!
