What’s next for Supermarkets? Woolies unveils next generation store, the first of it’s kind!

If you’ve been overseas recently, you would have noticed how supermarkets are evolving and becoming more of a marketplace with fresh fruit, a bakery section, extensive organic ranges and even their own cafes inside!

Woolworths has opened one of its first next generation stores in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, applying the ‘marketplace’ feel in the new Warringah Mall.

The Warringah store is the first of the newly designed concept stores, Woolworths plans to roll out nationwide. The new stores are part of Woolworths renewal program, building on work done to stores throughout the past year.

The new store concepts have a strong emphasis on health, nutrition and organic produce. The new look store has 26 bays in one aisle dedicated to healthy eating options, as well as on trend health foods and self-serve bulk fruit and nuts. This store also has one of the largest ranges of organic produce, giving consumers more organic ranges and organic fruit and veg unlike their current offering.

Woolworths has also added in a few extra features to the multi-million dollar upgrade including a freshly made in-store sushi selection and a dedicated butcher cutting meat to customers specifications.

The Warringah Mall Woolworths also features a one of a kind cheese room, filled with more than 100 locally sourced Australian cheeses and a full-time cheese expert to help you select the right cheese for your occasion.

Woolworths are creating a bespoke shopping experience for their customers, allowing them to shop all in one place for their fresh, unique produce. Instead of heading to a deli for exotic cheeses, the new Woolworths stores offer hundreds of new products catering to all your needs.

Woolworths is planning to update 100 stores across the country over the coming year. The new stores will all be centred around healthy options and ideas, promoting Woolworths stance on fresh and organic produce.
